Pendulum is one of the largest and most bizarre phenomen on the music scene. Since the beginning of the group and the release of their first productions, in orthodox circles of drum and bass confessors Pendulum talked about more in terms of fun and it was one of the milder ways of commenting on their work.
When I'm watching today's drum and bass scene, from a certain point, I can notice the two major poles of development of the genre. The first one is striving for the sound development of the hyper-power and mass (vide Noisia, and certainly their collaborative efforts with the Foreign Beggars, especially the last one). The second is a step towards minimizing the form, tone and detail visibility (Consequence, Sunchase). And this is probably the future og dnb. ASC seems to exploit this phenomenon well.

Nitroglycerin is a substance which provides static safety. Any bigger shock may cause the tragic explosion. The title of Sunchase's debut LP "Static Nitro" can (or should?) be interpreted as a unique, metaphorical explication of the contents of the album.
Releasing sick music from hospital rooms is slowly becoming a tradition. Slowly, because we have only the second compilation "Sick music", but we can certainly count on more. You can see here, as indeed there is much you can do in dnb.
Noisia is so long with us that it is hard to believe that the "Split The Atom" is only their debut LP. I must admit that the expectations for him - and against a group of such seniority - were enormous. Do they responded?
When an artist creates music not quite match his previous image, always, but always and always arouse great controversy and divide his listeners on two fronts. Some are delighted, others not. So it is the case with "The Edge of Mind" Kamo & Crooked.
I'm giving special sympathy for Razor Point ever since a few years ago when I heard their "Face of Melinda", "Blue Monday" and the famous half-hour mix of Boat Festival. Since its beginning, Ender and Jobe gave more, not only as producers of a good bit, but first and foremost a duo which has produced its own distinctive style.
First impression is, actually, really amazing. Especially that Phace and Misanthrop are preparing their tracks with recipe for dancefloor killers. Slow, atmospheric "tape leader" and hard beat bunch - neuro knocked to the neighbours doors.
When I've heard opening track, I traveled to past, to my first drum and bass fascinations. Yes, Dom & Roland's standing steady with one leg in oldschool. And that's my favourite thing in his work.
It's been a pretty short time since the latest Blu Mar Ten's album - only two years. But trio has made really long distance - in quality - between "Black Water" and "Natrural History".
